Can't move (drag & drop)
text boxes in Microsoft Word
Why all of a sudden can't users easily move/drag and drop
text boxes in Microsoft Word.
Scenario:
We recently came across an issue where some users found themselves unable to "easily" move around text boxes in Word Documents. So I thought we would address the problem with a quick solution.
Solution...
The issue occurs because Word is operating in compatibility mode. If you are using a newer version of Microsoft Office (2013 onwards) you can open the document, click on file → save as → from the drop-down menu select Word Document (*.docx).
Open the newly saved version, you should now see that Word is no longer in compatibility mode, and your ability to drag/drop text boxes has been restored.
