How to display a shared folder in the OneDrive desktop app
Display a company or individual shared folder
in the OneDrive desktop app...
Scenario:
Your company, a department within your company, or an individual has shared a folder with you via OneDrive. Your preference is to use the OneDrive desktop app so to save you from accessing the shared folder online you need to create a shortcut within the desktop app.
Step by step...
Assume in the following steps that the folder has already been shared with you:
- Login to your 365 profile (https://login.microsoftonline.com)
- Click on the OneDrive icon (left pane)
- Click on shared (left pane)
- Click once to tick and highlight the shared folder
- From the top menu, click add shortcut to my files

From the video we will login to 365 as the sharer (collette(at)gorazy.com) access OneDrive via the online portal, create the folder "sales invoices" and share it with will(at)gorazy.com.
Now the folder has been shared we will login to 365 as will(at)gorazy.com and select the option to display "sales invoices" within the desktop app.
